At Valen Homecare was officially established in 2023, but our work began much earlier. During the onset and duration of the COVID-19 pandemic, both of our founders served actively as frontline bedside nurses. We witnessed firsthand the profound vulnerability of our communities and the critical need for reliable, compassionate support when systems were stretched to their absolute limit.

Driven by an inherent, non-negotiable compulsion to help, we launched a critical staffing support initiative in 2021. Leveraging a sister-company as a pilot project, we mobilized to stabilize overwhelmed facilities across the greater Ottawa, Ontario area, extending our reach across a critical five-hour radius.

Founded by two siblings, both of whom possess over a decade of hands-on experience in diverse Canadian healthcare departments, our company is uniquely positioned. We were raised within the medical community, learning the foundational principles of discipline and duty from our family, which includes an anesthesiologist father and a surgeon grandfather. From them, we absorbed the rigor, precision, and vital importance of clinical excellence. Equally influential was our mother’s tireless charity work in impoverished and disaster‑stricken communities, which showed us what true service looks like and exposed us early to the pressing needs of the vulnerable, the homeless, and the sick. From her, we learned to truly see and respond to those needs — lessons that shape every aspect of how we care today.
